Discover the magic of the African wilderness from the saddle, the comfort of a 4x4, or on foot. Sosian Lodge, located on the spectacular Laikipia Plateau in central Kenya, combines thrilling wildlife encounters with relaxed luxury, making it the perfect choice for couples, families, riders, and non-riders alike.

Surrounded by rolling acacia-covered hills, rocky valleys, and the fast-flowing Ewaso Nyiro River, Sosian is home to elephants, giraffes, zebra, buffalo, wild dogs, cats, hippos, crocodiles, and much more. With a focus on conservation and personalised service, this experience offers a true taste of untamed Africa.

What You Will Experience

  • Horseback safaris in the African bush – Ride alongside giraffes, zebra, and antelope in breathtaking scenery. Morning and evening rides (2–3 hours) or full-day picnic rides (up to 6 hours) are tailored to your riding ability.
  • Incredible wildlife viewing – Over 2,000 elephants migrate across the plateau each year, and you may also see rare Grevy’s zebra, wild dogs, and countless bird species.
  • Varied safari activities – Mix horseback riding with game drives, guided bush walks, camel rides, fishing, tubing, tennis, swimming, and relaxation.
  • Fly camping under the stars – Ride to a remote riverside camp, enjoy dinner by the campfire, and sleep under the African night sky.
  • Personalised adventures – Small groups and flexible itineraries mean you can combine activities to suit everyone in your party.
